UIC is beginning its sixth season of play at Flames Field.

The lighted softball field, which offers a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline, features a working press box, an inning-by-inning scoreboard, seating for 500 spectators, a concession stand and heated restrooms.

The field has also played host to the Chicago Public League high school softball tournament and the Steve Dahl, WCKG 105.9 FM, summer softball series that attracts hundreds of followers to UIC's campus during the summer months.

Field dimensions are 210 feet down the lines and 210 feet to straight away center field.
