Chicago, Ill. - Juniors Teaha Shepperd and Meghan Keck both earned post-season honors at the Horizon League Volleyball banquet on Thursday night.
Shepperd, an outside hitter, was named to the Horizon League All-League team, while Keck, a setter, was named the Horizon League Co-Newcomer of the Year and to the Horizon League All-Newcomer team.
Shepperd, who received Horizon League second-team honors last season, recorded a career-high, 430 kills this season along with 356 digs. Shepperd is currently sixth in UIC history with 1,173 career kills.
Keck, a transfer from Auburn University, has recorded 1,185 assists on the season, which is good for ninth in school history for a single season and for a career. Keck set a school-record this season for a single-match hitting percentage of .900 (9 kills, 1 error, 10 attacks) against Birmingham Southern.
UIC will open up the post-season tonight, as they will take on #4 seed and host UW-Green Bay in the Horizon League quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m.
