Volleyball Moves Back Into Midwest Regional Rankings

Chicago, Ill. - The latest regional volleyball rankings were released on Thursday morning and the University of Illinois at Chicago volleyball team has been rewarded with a No. 8 ranking, along with Tulane, in the Midwest Region.
UIC was ranked No. 5 in the first regional rankings of the season, dropped out and worked their way back into the top 10.
"We've worked hard to get back," UIC head coach Don August said. "Based on the competition we have played, we certainly earned our way into the rankings."
The Flames were one of three Horizon League teams in the top 10, including Loyola (No. 3) and UW-Milwaukee (No. 6).
The Midwest Region is comprised of the teams from the Horizon League, Conference USA, the Ohio Valley Conference and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
UIC (20-13) will be back in action on Friday night, as they will take on No. 4 seed and host UW-Green Bay in the Horizon League quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m.
