Volleyball Heads To Dayton For Final Regular Season Road Match Oct. 31, 2008
UIC vs. Wright State Match Notes
Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team heads to Dayton, Ohio for its final regular season road match against Wright State on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. Wright State leads the series, 22-19, after topping the Flames in four sets in Chicago on Oct. 4. UIC (11-13, 4-7) is coming off a 3-0 loss to Loyola on Oct. 25 which snapped a four-match winning streak for the Flames. Despite the setback, UIC have dominated its opponents in nearly every category over the last two weeks. The Flames averaged 0.18 kills and 0.59 more blocks per set than their foes in those five contests. Casie Sullivan averages a team-best 2.7 kills per set, while Epiphany Davis ranks 10th in the league with 0.89 blocks per set. Wright State (11-14, 7-5) is looking to rebound after falling to Cleveland State on the road on Oct. 25. Shaunda Sandifer and Becca Awaa pace WSU's offensive attack with 2.7 kills per set. The Flames return to Chicago to wrap up the regular season at home.
