Volleyball Faces Youngstown State In "Dig For The Cure" Match

UIC Volleyball Game Notes in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - After two weeks of raising money, UIC volleyball faces Youngstown State in the designated "Dig for the Cure" match on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:00 p.m. The "Dig for the Cure" campaign raises money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation which fights the battle against breast cancer. For more information on the "Dig for the Cure" campaign, please click here. Individuals can donate for each dig that the Flames total throughout the contest, make a flat donation or match head coach Nancy Mueller's donation of $5 per dig. All proceeds go directly to the Komen Foundation. For more information of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, visit www.komen.org. The Flames enter the contest 12-12 overall and 4-7 in league play, while the Penguins own an 11-13 overall mark and are 4-8 in conference action. UIC leads the series, 18-4. The Flames are coming off a 3-1 victory over Bradley on Monday night. UIC was powered by junior Christin Hunt with 16 kills. Sophomore Casie Sullivan owned a team-high .571 attack percentage with eight kills, 46 assists, 11 digs and four blocks. Youngstown State topped West Virginia in five games at home on Oct. 23. Jessica Fraley leads the team with 3.45 kills per game and Ebony Barbosa owns a team-best 3.41 digs per game on the season.
