Volleyball Heads to Indiana For Matches Against Valpo and Butler

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team continues its three-match road slate this weekend with contests against Valparaiso and Butler in Indiana. UIC (6-11, 1-5) starts with a match against Valparaiso on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. contest against Butler on Sunday. The Flames are coming off a heartbreaking five-set loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday night. UIC fell to the Panthers in the fifth set after coming back from a two-set deficit. Despite the setback, the Flames recorded season-highs in blocks (20), kills (62) and digs (98). Casie Sullivan ranks ninth in the league with 2.86 kills per set. Lana Lobdell is UIC's most efficient hitter with a .277 attack percentage which ranks eighth in the league. Valparaiso (11-5, 3-3) enters this weekend's Horizon League action with four straight wins. Angie Porche leads the league with 4.66 kills per set. Butler (14-4, 4-2) dropped into second place in the league following a four-set loss to Wright State on Oct. 8. Jalesa Lee leads the league at the net with 1.16 blocks per set. UIC returns to the Flames Athletic Center next week with three straight home matches, starting with a Tuesday night matchup against Bradley on Oct. 12.
