INDIANAPOLIS - Senior middle hitter Janise Dismuke (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) has been named the Horizon League's "Offensive Player of the Week" for the period of Sept. 30-Oct. 7, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
"Janise has the ability to take over a match," head coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley said. "She played at a high level over the last week. She has been working hard in practice, and this award is a reflection of her and her teammates pushing each other to be better every day."
Dismuke assisted her team to a 3-0 week inside the Flames Athletic Center. UIC first swept Eastern Illinois Oct. 3, while Dismuke posted a career-high .812 hitting percentage (13-0-16).
