Imrie Named UICFlames.com Student-Athlete of the Week|

CHICAGO—Senior volleyball player MaryKate Imrie has been selected as the UICFlames.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the period Sept. 2-8. Imrie was voted onto the All-Tournament Team last weekend after helping her squad place second at the UIC Invitational and recording 42 assists in the home opener against TCU.
In the opening round of the Invitational, Imrie recorded her first double-double of the season in a 3-2 victory over Marshall. She tied her career-high with 65 assists, added 10 digs and also recorded two service aces. UIC beat Chicago State 3-1, in the second round, with Imrie dishing out 42 assists and compiling seven digs. In the final match, a loss against Denver, the Orland Park, Ill., native recorded 36 assists on the Flames’ 43 kills. The senior finished the weekend with 143 assists, 21 digs, five kills, four total blocks and three service aces.
Imrie currently is averaging 11.36 assists per set this season (first place in the Horizon League) and ranks sixth in program history with 2,868 career assists. The UIC Flames volleyball team will be back in action this weekend (Sept.13-14), as they travel to Iowa to compete in the Hawkeye Challenge.
