Doublewood Inn Classic presented by ASICS Game Notes Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team heads to Fargo, North Dakota for the Doublewood Inn Classic presented by ASICS, Sept. 5-6.

In addition to host North Dakota State, the Flames will face Texas-El Paso and Northern Colorado.

UIC opens tournament action versus UTEP on Friday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. CST, followed by a nightcap against the Bison at 7 p.m. The two-day event comes to a close on Saturday afternoon with a matchup against Northern Colorado at 1 p.m.

UIC enters the tournament with a 1-1 record after splitting at the Chicagoland Challenge over Labor Day weekend. The Flames concluded the annual event on a high note with a five-set come-from-behind win over DePaul.

Christin Hunt was named to the all-tournament team with 22 kills and a team-high .340 attack percentage. Katerina Hanackova was impressive on both sides of the net with 22 kills, 34 digs and four blocks.

Epiphany Davis totaled six blocks, while Lana Lobdell registered 17 kills, four blocks and a .340 attack percentage in eight sets.

UIC welcomes Chicago State for its home opener at the Flames Athletic Center on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
