On Tuesday, Sept. 4, when UIC plays host to in-state rival Northern Illinois at the Flames Athletic Center, the athletic department will be hosting "Faculty Night." All UIC faculty members and their families will be admitted for free. Interested participants should contact Assistant Director of Marketing & Game Promotions Casie Sullivan by noon on Sept. 4 to reserve their spots. The "Red Zone" match will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when the Flames entertain Eastern Illinois in a mid-week non-conference showdown. The first 100 UIC students in attendance will receive a limited edition UIC Flames giveaway item.
On Friday, Oct. 5, when the Flames host Horizon League foe Green Bay, the UIC Athletic Department will be celebrating "Dig for the Cure" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The first 100 students in attendance will receive a special edition pink UIC t-shirt -- all fans will be encouraged to wear pink.
The next day (Saturday, Oct. 6) will represent "Alumni Day" when the Flames host Milwaukee beginning at 4 p.m. Fans will enjoy the opportunity to meet past and present UIC Volleyball student-athletes. Alumna of the Flames' volleyball program can pre-purchase tickets for a discounted price by contacting Assistant Director of Season Ticket Sales Nate Downing at 312-996-5324, or via e-mail at email@example.com.
On Friday, Oct. 26, the first of two Wounded Warriors events will be held at the FAC. The UIC Athletic Department will be recognizing the men and women that were injured while serving in the armed forces. All Military personnel will be admitted free with proper identification.
The Athletic Department will be celebrating Halloween the following afternoon (Saturday, Oct. 27), when the Flames host Youngstown State at 4 p.m. It will also be Community Day at the FAC. Fans are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costume, and free candy will be available at the match. Community members will also be able to enjoy this local free event with their friends and families.
The second Wounded Warriors event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, when the Flames host cross-town rival Loyola beginning at 2 p.m. Seniors Nicole Allgood, Janise Dismuke, Jacqueline Lang, Kelsey Safranek and Aubrey Sniegowski will all be playing the final home match of their careers.
All volleyball home matches are played at the Flames Athletic Center, located at 839 West Roosevelt Road in Chicago. All events, times and details are subject to change.
