Volleyball Falls In Horizon League Quarterfinals|

Green Bay, Wis. - The University of Illinois at Chicago volleyball team's season came to an end on Friday evening as the Flames dropped a hard-fought 30-28, 30-26, 31-29 decision at the hands of host UW-Green Bay in the Horizon League quarterfinals at the Phoenix Sports Center on Friday night.
UIC finishes the season with a record of 20-14 on the campaign, while UW-Green Bay improves to 17-17 overall. The Phoenix will square off with #1 seed Loyola at 5:00 p.m. in the Horizon League semifinals on Saturday evening.
Junior outside hitter Lindsey Filkins led UIC with 12 kills, while teammate Teaha Shepperd added a double-double of 11 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore libero Jordan Studzinski recorded a game-high 16 digs.
Serving played a huge role in the contest as UIC recorded eight aces along with 15 service errors. UW-Green Bay responded with seven aces of their own and only one service error.
UW-Green Bay also had a strong presence at the net as the Phoenix recorded 9.5 kills to UIC's three kills on the evening. Amanda Timmers paced UWGB with six blocks (1 solo, 5 assists).
Jessie Theys topped UW-Green Bay with 14 kills, while Janelle Tomlinson chipped n 13 kills of her own for the Phoenix.
