Volleyball Cruises Past Cleveland State, 30-26, 30-10, 30-27.|

Chicago, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago volleyball team moved into a tie for fourth-place in the Horizon League with a 30-26, 30-10, 30-27 sweep over Cleveland State at the Flames Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, UIC improves to 19-12 on the season and moves to .500 in the Horizon League with a record of 6-6. Cleveland State falls to 17-11 overall and 4-8 in league play. UIC is now one game behind third-place UW-Green Bay in the conference standings.
Junior outside hitter Lindsey Filkins (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 11 digs to lead the way for the Flames. Filkins finished the match with a hitting percentage of .308 (10 kills, 2 errors, 26 attacks).
UIC also received a solid effort from junior Teaha Shepperd (Kalamazoo, Mich./Galesburg-Augusta) as the outside hitter also pounded home 10 kills for the Flames.
Freshman outside hitter Sarah Lang (Yorktown, Ind./Muncie-Burris) kept the Vikings on Saturday afternoon as she tied a career-high with five service aces. UIC finished the match with 12 total aces.
Sophomore libero Jordan Studzinski (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) garnered 15 digs on the afternoon as the Flames' out-dug Cleveland State, 48-29.
Cleveland State middle hitter Jamie Bouyer recorded a match-high,12 kills for the Vikings.
UIC will be back in action on Friday evening, as they will travel to Wisconsin, to take on UW-Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
