    Chicago, Illinois - Lara Marks and Katie Engel each recorded 22 kills for DePaul as the visiting Blue Demons came from behind to earn the 30-23, 24-30, 20-30, 30-27, 15-4 victory over the University of Illinois at Chicago at the UIC Pavilion on Tuesday night.

    With the victory, DePaul improves to 4-14 on the season, while UIC falls to 14-6 on the campaign.

    Junior outside hitter Teaha Shepperd (Kalamazoo, Mich./Galesburg-Augusta) led UIC with 22 kills and 16 digs, while teammate Lara Clarkson (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte/DePaul) recorded her fourth double-double in the last five matches as the senior outside hitter pounded home 13 kills and 11 digs.

    Sophomore middle hitter Kristi Herrington (6 kills) denied DePaul with a team-season high eight total blocks (3 solo, 5 assists) to lead UIC to a team-season high 12 total blocks.

    UIC held a 2-1 lead over DePaul and was unable to put the Blue Demons away as the Flames hit a combined -.061 in games four and five.

    DePaul was also very solid defensively as they recorded 82 digs to UIC's 67 digs. Janet Goreham (10 kills) led six Blue Demons in double-figures with 20 digs.

    UIC will be back in action on Friday night, as they will travel to Ohio to take on Horizon League rival, Cleveland State at 7:00 p.m.
