    Oxford, Miss. - Despite having five different players recording double-digit kill outputs, the University of Illinois at Chicago women's volleyball team was unable to outlast Jacksonville State as the Gamecocks earned the 30-25, 26-30, 30-22, 20-30, 15-9 triumph over the Flames at the Rebel Classic, hosted by Ole Miss, at Gillom Sports Center on Saturday morning.

    Suzi Terrell paced Jacksonville State with 18 kills, while teammates Abbey Breit (14 kills) and Katie Moyers (10 kills) each turned in impressive efforts for the Gamecocks.

    With the victory, Jacksonville State improves to 8-2 on the season, while the Flames fall to 4-9 overall.

    UIC's Ambria Springer and Dawn Strahanoski led the Flames with 12 kills, while teammates Jordan Studzinski and Megan Colins added 11 kills apiece.

    The Flames also received solid performances from both setter Katie Kozak (48 assists, 13 digs) and Megan Hoffman (10 kills, 6 block assists).

    Springer finished the evening with 10 total blocks (2 solo, 8 assists) to push the Flames to a season-high 16.5 total team blocks. Five different UIC players finished with at least four total blocks on the morning.

    UIC will be back in action on Friday night, as they will open the Horizon League campaign against Youngstown State at 7:00 p.m. at the Flames Athletic Center.
