    Flames Capture Win in Sweep over Green Bay, 3-0


    The UIC volleyball team (7-10, 1-1) captured its first win of the Horizon League season on Saturday with a 3-0 (28-26, 28-26, 26-24) sweep over Green Bay (2-11, 0-2) at the Kress Center. Junior Stephenee Yancy paced all players with 16 kills to contribute to the Flames' 51 kills against the Phoenix.

    Volleyball Drops Horizon League Opener at Milwaukee, 3-1


    The UIC volleyball team (6-10, 0-1) fell (18-25, 29-27, 19-25, 18-25) in its Horizon League opener at preseason favorite Milwaukee (6-8, 1-0) on Friday night by a final of 3-1. Junior Stephenee Yancy tied for a match-high with 16 kills, extending her double-digit kill streak to 16 matches.

    UIC Volleyball Opens Horizon League Play in Wisconsin


    The UIC volleyball team (6-9) opens Horizon League play this weekend (Sept. 26-27) when the Flames make a road trip through Wisconsin. UIC plays at preseason conference favorite Milwaukee (5-8) Friday night (7 pm) inside the Klotsche Center and takes on Green Bay (2-9) Saturday (4 pm) at the Kress Center.

    Stephenee Yancy Earns Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week


    Junior middle blocker Stephenee Yancy (Aroma Park, Ill./Kankakee/Western Michigan) has been named the Horizon League's "Offensive Player of the Week" for the period of Sept. 15-21, it was announced by the conference office Monday morning. This is the second weekly honor for UIC this season and Yancy's first career Horizon League award.

    UIC Volleyball Downs Eastern Illinois in Four Sets


    The UIC volleyball team (6-9) won its final contest of the Penn State Alumni Classic Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory (25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 25-17) over Eastern Illinois (6-7). The Flames went 2-1 at the PSU Alumni Classic and start Horizon League play next weekend.

    UIC Volleyball Falls to No. 3 Penn State, 3-0


    The UIC volleyball team (5-9) fell in straight sets (25-18, 25-13, 25-16) to No. 3 Penn State (11-1) Saturday morning in the Flames' second match of the PSU Alumni Classic. The defending-national champion Nittany Lions hit .500 as a team with 51 kills on 90 attempts.
