    CHICAGO, - Erin Clark of the UIC track and field team has received the National Academic Momentum Award from The Scholar-Baller Program and the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), the organizations announced today.

    Clark, a junior from Forrest, Ill., won the award for the Midwest Region, making her one of 10 female recipients from around the country.

    Winners were selected based on accomplishments ranging from dramatically-increased GPAs, taking on more active roles in community service and overcoming obstacles from learning disabilities to financial hardships.

    Clark will receive an authentic Scholar-Baller® patch, a certificate of recognition and a ThinkwomanTM Trophy for her outstanding academic performance.
