CHICAGO- Junior Tess Ehrhardt set a personal record during the 5K race at the UW-Lucian Rosa Invitational this past Saturday as she picks up her third consecutive Horizon League Runner of the Week award. The Geneva, Ill., native, placed second among 294 runners, and first among Division-I runners, with a time of 17:35.7. Her time on Saturday morning bested her previous personal record by more than nine seconds.
“I couldn't have been more proud of Tess,” said head coach Jim Knoedel. “She ran the fastest time of her career on the toughest course. This indicates that she will cut a lot more time off when we get a flat course like we will see at the Horizon League meet. She is one of the premier runners in the Midwest.”
Ehrhardt and the Flames cross country team’s return to competition Saturday, Oct. 19 at the ISU Pre-National Invitational. The Horizon League Championships is set for Nov. 2, hosted by Youngstown State in Boardman, Ohio.
