CHICAGO—UIC women’s cross country runner Tess Ehrhardt has been selected as the Illinois National Guard UIC Flames Student-Athlete of the Week for the period Sept. 23-29. The junior piloted the women’s team to a first-place victory at the College of DuPage Invitational last Friday.  She was also honored as the Horizon League Runner of the Week for the first time this season.

Ehrhardt finished the 5k with a time of 18:11.7 as she placed first out of 167 runners, with a 10-second advantage over the second-place runner.  Her performance helped lead her team to a four-point victory over Horizon League-Foe Milwaukee.

The Flames will next travel to South Bend, Ind., where they will compete against their fellow Horizon League schools Green Bay, Oakland, Valparaiso, and Youngstown State at the Notre Dame Invitational next Friday, Oct. 4.
