    AUSTIN, Texas - Senior jumper Kellie Schuh finished 30th in the pole vault, highlighting the UIC men's and women's track & field team's performance in the NCAA West Regional hosted by the University of Texas.

    Schuh leaped 3.92 meters, out-jumping 10 other competitors - the top-12 finishers advance to the ensuing NCAA Championships. Meanwhile, senior Matt Zaluckyj took 31st in the 800-meter run, crossing the finishing line in 1:51.76. Justin Higginbotham, a junior jumper, finished 39th in the triple jump with a leap of 14.67 meters.

    "It was exciting to have a great representation at such a prestigious meet," said head coach Jim Knoedel. "Congrats to all of our athletes on a very good outdoor season."

    UIC's season concluded at the West Regional preliminaries. The Flames will kick off their 2012 cross country season next fall. Stay tuned to for the official release of next season's complete slate.
