Madison, Wis. -The UIC track and field team prepared for this week's Horizon League Championship meet by taking part in the Wisconsin Twilight hosted by the University of Wisconsin over the weekend.

Senior Lisa Petty gave the women's team its highest finish at the Wisconsin Twilight by taking second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 11:47.11. Teammate Danyelle Somerfeld was close behind in fourth place in 12:16.05.

Junior Idara Essien gave the women's side another top-tier finish by placing third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.36m.

Freshman Andy Wall took home top ten finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (7th/15.88) and triple jump (6th/13.48m) to pace the men's squad at the Wisconsin Twilight.

Nick Karavolos notched a pair of top ten standings of his own in the javelin (6th/46.33m) and long jump (9th/6.63m) while Scott Pauga placed fifth in the high jump (1.95m).

The Horizon League Track and Field Championships get underway on Thursday, May 10 in Indianapolis, Ind.
