Chicago, Ill. - Women's track and field coach Jim Knoedel announced on Friday that he had inked Lindsey Schwerman (Effingham, Ill./St. Anthony) to a national letter of intent.

Schwerman, who will specialize in the field events, placed eighth last season at the Illinois State Track Meet in the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet, 7-inches. Her personal best triple jump was a fifth-place effort of 35-feet, 7-inches at the 2001 Illinois Prep Top Times Meet. Schwerman also competes in the long jump and has achieved a personal-best mark of 17-feet, ½ inch.

"Lindsey will make an immediate impact at the Midwestern Collegiate Conference championships," Knoedel said. "I know she has the ability to win at least five conference titles before she graduates."
