Falcon Heights, Minn.- Senior Laura Macias finished another outstanding season with a Top 50 finish for the UIC women's cross country team at the 2006 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.

Macias, a two-time All-Horizon League First Team runner in her two seasons with the Flames, posted a career-best 6,000-meter time of 22:13.17 to take 42nd place out of 171 runners. It was the 10th consecutive meet that she has led all UIC runners.

Susanna Martinez and Lisa Petty joined Macias in wrapping up standout collegiate cross country careers for the Flames on Saturday. Martinez ran a 23:55.17, while Petty finished the course in 23:58.92.

Junior Kerry Brennan turned in UIC's fourth-best time with a 24:49.12. Senior Korinne Krych ran a 25:08.62, while freshmen Mary Kate Carrick (25:19.77) and Mary Brennan (25:26.12) rounded out the meet for the Flames.
