WATERLOO, IOWA - So close, but yet so far away.

Freshman Jenni Goebel finished seven seconds short of a berth in the NCAA Cross Country championships at the Division I Midwest Regional at Northern Iowa on Saturday.

Goebel completed the 3.78-mile course in 21:46 to finish 31st overall. The top 25 individuals move on to the following week at the NCAA Championships.

The men's team finished 18th out of the 23-team field with 531 points.
