Indianapolis, Ind.- Senior Laura Macias' second consecutive All-Horizon League First Team finish and Top 20 times by fellow seniors Lisa Petty and Susana Martinez guided the UIC women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the 2006 Horizon League Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning.

Macias finished sixth overall in a time of 18:29.35.

Petty ran the course in 19:40.50 to place 19th overall and earn 18th-place points. Martinez followed in 19:51.45 to earn 21st overall and 20th-place points.

Korinne Krych ran well, placing 27th overall with a time of 20:15.55.

Mary Kate Carrick (20:38.50), Kerry Brennan (20:40.90), Mary Brennan (20:43.25) and Danyelle Somerfield (20:46.45) stayed together to help the UIC cause, cementing the 31st through 34th places for the Flames.

The Flames took fourth behind Butler, who won its fifth straight league crown, Loyola and UW-Milwaukee. Following UIC were UW-Green Bay, Youngstown State, Wright State, Cleveland State and Detroit.

The Flames will head to NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in Minneapolis on November 11th.
