Peoria, Ill. - The UIC men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Bradley Classic at Newman Golf Course on Friday afternoon.

Nic Aubert took the lead on the men's side for the second straight meet, posting a team-best 26:16 in the 8,000-meter run. Aubert finished the meet placing 66th out of 148 runners. Teammate Alex Sutphen finished right behind Aubert with a time of 26:17, placing 67th.

Other top performers for the men included Jorge Flores (26:36/77th), Mark Riggs (26:45/86th) and Josh Bland (26:51/90th).

On the women's side, Mary Brennan led the Flames for the first time this season. She crossed the finish line at the 22:53 mark, finishing 59th out of 171 runners in the 6,000 meter-run. Teammate Olivia Myers came in second for the women's squad, placing 55th with a time of 23:00.

Danyelle Somerfield (24:08/115th), Rosemary Gillam (24:25/128th), and Kristin Scolarici (24:38/132nd) also posted top times for the Flames.

In the team standings, UIC men's cross country team placed 14th out of 15 teams. The UIC women's team finished 16th out of 17 teams.

UIC will return to competition on Oct. 27 at the Horizon League Cross Country Championships in Valparaiso, Ind.
