Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's and women's cross country teams fought hard at the 35th annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Avenue Beach on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Olivia Myers led the women's side putting on another stellar performance, crossing the finish line at 19:04. She finished the meet placing 36th out of 203 runners in the 5,000-meter run.

Mary Brennan (19:35/67th) and Danyelle Somerfield (20:21/118th) also posted top finishes for the Flames.

On the men's side, sophomore Nic Aubert notched a team-best 26:31, placing 83rd out of 234 runners in the 8,000 meter run. Teammate Alex Sutphen wasn't far behind, finishing in 96th with a time of 26:49.

Josh Bland (27:01/108th) and Mark Riggs (27:07/115th) also posted top times for the Flames.

In the Collegiate Gold Division team standings, the UIC men finished 16th out of 21 teams. The UIC women finished 17th out of 19 teams.

UIC will return to competition on October 12th at the Bradley Classic in Peoria, Ill.
