Naperville, Illinois - Junior Monieka Thompson (Chicago, Ill./Steinmetz) placed second overall in the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:11.52 at the North Central College Invitational on Friday.

On the men's side, senior Barry Somerville (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles) captured the 400-meter hurdles title at the North Central College Invitational on Friday with a time of 53.49.

Somerville added a third-place finish in the 110-meter high hurdles as he crossed the finish line at 15.28.

Other UIC competitors include: Danny Smith (800-meter run, 1:55.33), Chris Stanley (800-meter run, 1:56.52), Rich Daubert (1,500-meter run, 4:04.81), Jon White (triple jump, 42"6 ¼').
