Women's Track & Field Places Eighth At Horizon League Championships
May 9, 2008 Youngstown, Ohio - The UIC women's track and field team concluded competition with an eighth place finish at the Horizon League Championships on Friday afternoon. Idara Essien, Sarah Welch, and Kristin Scolarici highlighted top performances for the women's squad. Essien posted a fourth-place finish in the triple jump (11.86m) while Welch finished fifth in the pole vault (2.95m). In the 5,000-meter run, Scolarici turned in a season-best time of 18:35.52, respectively.
