Indianapolis, Ind. - Sophomore Crystal Sanders picked up the lone championship for the University of Illinois at Chicago women's track and field squad as she breezed to the 400-meter hurdles title with a meet record time of 1:02.51 at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships at Michael A. Carroll Stadium, hosted by Butler on Friday afternoon.

Sanders also placed fourth overall in the 100-meter hurdles with a mark of 15.18.

UW-Milwaukee cruised to the championship with 252 points, followed by Butler (81), Youngstown State (80), Loyola (72), Detroit (64), UIC (40) and Wright State (31).

UIC also received a third-place finish from their 400-meter relay team with a mark of 49.54. The 1,600-meter relay squad placed fourth overall with a time of 4:01.21.

Freshman Tamika Johnson picked up a pair of fifth-place finishes in both the 200-meter dash (25.82) and 400-meter dash (58.84). Freshman Lauren Quinn placed fifth in the pole vault (8'6").

Sophomore Sara Jeffers took home a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:44.22).

UIC will be back in action on May 30th, as they will travel to Columbus, Ohio to participate in the NCAA Regionals, hosted by Ohio State.
