Indianapolis, Ind. - Sophomore Crystal Sanders placed eighth overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:03.7 to lead the University of Illinois at Chicago women's track and field team at the Butler Twilight on Saturday afternoon.

The Flames also received a solid performance from senior Monieka Thompson. Thompson finished ninth overall in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 57.68.

UIC will be back in action on Thursday evening, as they will go back to Indianapolis, Ind., to participate in the Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
