Results

Lisle, Ill.- The UIC track and field teams concluded competition at the 2009 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Benedictine University on Sunday, with the women's squad finishing in third place while the men's team finished fourth.

The women's squad wrapped up competition with 68 points, behind repeat winner Youngstown State (208) and Milwaukee (180). Loyola tied with the Flames at 68 points, while Detroit (52), Wright State (46), Valparaiso (15) and Butler (14) rounding out the field.

The men's competition saw Milwaukee claim the title with 197 points, followed by Youngstown State (167), Butler (93), UIC (72), Detroit (46), Loyola (45) and Valparaiso (29)

Toni Ogundare recorded a pair of runner-up finishes on the day, with a 1,500-meter run time of 4:38.54 and an 800-meter run time of 2:15.63.

Kellie Schuh also posted a second-place finish with a runner-up mark of 3.49 in the pole vault.

Mike Savegnago finished third in the pole vault with an elevation of 4.60m, while Andy Wall's 110-meter hurdle finish of 15.26 and Aimee Schuh's 100-meter hurdle time of 14.98 also garnered third-place honors.

From her runner-up finish in the heptahlon on Saturday, Aimee Schuh was named the meet's Newcomer of the Year in the field events at the conclusion of today's events.

Lewis Brown's time of 1:52.29 in the men's 800 meters was good for third in the event standings.
