    Rensselaer, Ind. - University of Illinois at Chicago distance specialists Jenni Goebel and Lisa Petty each turned in first-place finishes to help the women's track and field squad to a third-place finish at the Fifth Annual Puma Invitational, hosted by St. Joseph, on Saturday afternoon.

    Goebel won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:59.8, followed by Petty's first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:30.5).

    Saint Joseph won the overall title with 226 points, followed by Taylor (141), UIC (68), Indianapolis (42) and Northwestern (15).

    Freshman Kerry Brennan captured a pair of second-place finishes in both the 800-meter run (2:35.94) and the 1,500-meter run (5:12.35). Sophomore Sarah Morrison rounded out the top-three finishers for the Flames with a third-place mark of 9.89 meters in the triple jump.

    UIC will be back in action on Saturday morning, as they will travel to Bloomington-Normal, Ill., to participate in the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State, at 9:00 a.m.
