Lawrence, Kan. - University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore Sara Jeffers placed seventh overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:15.74 at the Kansas Relays on Friday afternoon, hosted by Kansas University.

The women's track and field team also received a 16th-place finish from their 4x400 relay team, crossing the finish line in 3:57.99.

The Kansas Relays will conclude on Saturday afternoon.
