Indoor Season Comes To An End For Women's Track and Field Squad|

South Bend, Ind. - University of Illinois at Chicago junior sprinter Tamika Johnson turned in an impressive pair of performances at the highly prestigious Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, over the weekend, with career-best finishes in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes.
Johnson raced to a 12th-place, personal-record mark of 26.16 in the 200-meter dash, and finished the weekend off with another personal-record and 12th-place finish in the 400-meter dash (58.87).
Sophomore sprinter Rowsha LaBranche was the only other athlete competing in the meet, and earned a season-best, time of 58.52 in the 400-meter dash.
UIC will take a few weeks off before they open up the outdoor campaign, in West Lafayette, Ind., on Mar. 26th, as they will participate in the Purdue Open at 10:00 a.m.
