Romeoville, Ill. - Sophomore Lizet Diaz raced to a first-place finish of 5:25.77 in the mile run to lead the University of Illinois at Chicago women's track and field squad at the Lewis Friday Night Series #3 on Friday night.

Senior Jessica Streit followed Diaz with a third-place finish of her own, crossing the finish line in 5:27.51.

Junior Danielle Simpson also notched a third-place finish in the weight throw with a heave of 44'6 3/4".

UIC will be back in action on Saturday, as they will participate in the Cannon Classic, hosted by Butler.
