    Normal, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago senior distance specialist Jenni Goebel placed third overall in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:28.09 to pace the women's track and field team at the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State, at the Horton Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

    Freshman jumper Idara Essien chipped in the other third-place mark for the Flames in the triple jump with a leap of 10.45 meters.

    UIC received a fourth-place finish from sophomore Kristina Finley (pole vault, 2.69m) and a pair of fifth-place marks from sophomores Rachel Covert (3,000-meter run, 10:55.46) and Sarah Morrison (triple jump, 9.8m).

    UIC will be back in action on Saturday morning, as they will travel to Kenosha, Wis., to participate in the Carthage Invitational at 10:00 a.m.
