Madison, Wis. - The UIC men's and women's track and field teams continued their 2008 season inside Camp Randall Memorial Center at the Wisconsin Elite Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

On the men's side, freshman Ezekiel Sayon won his first ever event for the Flames winning the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.00 seconds. Sayon also finished in ninth place in the 200-meter dash (23.43).

Senior Terell Williams posted an eighth place finish in the triple jump (12.89m) and placed tenth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.64 seconds.

Other highlights for the men included Joe Bailey throwing a distance of 14.63 meters in the weight throw and Cory Renner placing in fifth in the 200-meter dash (7.39).

For the UIC women, highlighting the afternoon was Monique Bostert adding another personal-best performance and setting a new school record in the weight throw with a distance of 15.50 meters.

Idara Essien had another nice showing, taking fifth place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.22 meters.

Lauren Fogarty also placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.20 meters.

The Flames will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the University of Chicago Invite in Chicago, Ill.
