Monique Bostert Breaks School Record In Weight Throw

Madison, Wis. - The UIC men's and women's track and field teams kicked off its 2009 indoor campaign at the Badger Track Classic in Madison, Wis. on Saturday at the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center.
Andy Wall highlighted the field events for the men's team with several notable finishes. The junior finished in first place in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 13.86 meters. Wall also earned fifth in the high jump (1.93m) and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.81).
In his collegiate debut, Matt Zaluckyj clinched a three-place spot in the 800-meter run (1:59.31).
On the women's side, Monique Bostert broke the school record in the weight throw (16.44m) with a fourth-place finish.
Newcomer Kellie Schuh earned a fourth-place spot in the triple jump (11.26m), while also tying for sixth in the pole vault.
Transfer Kristen Heckert highlighted the running events with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10.37.23.
The women's team wrapped up the event with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
UIC heads to Normal, Ill. next weekend for the Redbird Classic, hosted by Illinois State on Saturday, Jan. 24.
