    West Lafayette, Ind. - University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore sprinter Rowsha LaBranche posted three, top-six finishes to lead the women's track and field squad at the Purdue Invitational in the Lambert Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

    LaBranche finished fourth overall in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 26.43 and added a sixth-place mark in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 1:00.66. The Bolingbrook, Ill., native was also a part of the fourth-place, 4x400 relay team (4:14.52), along with Tamika Johnson, Jessica Cwiak and Idara Essien.

    Cwiak and Essien were the lone Flames to pick up third-place finishes on the afternoon. Cwiak earned the bronze in the 600-meter run (1:52.37), while Essien finished third in the triple jump (10.19m), just ahead of teammate Sarah Morrison (9.81m).

    Johnson earned a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.27), while teammate Adaeze Chuma-Okorafor placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.53 meters.

    UIC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, as they will travel to Charleston, Ill., to participate in the Eastern Illinois Megameet at 10:00 a.m.
