West Lafayette, Ind. - UIC kicked off the 2007 indoor track and field season on Saturday afternoon by competing in the Purdue Invitational at Lambert Fieldhouse.

The women's team was paced by senior Rowsha LaBranche, who finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.41 while taking third in the 400-meter race (1:01.39).

The men's squad's day was highlighted by the triple jump where rookie Andy Wall and senior Jeff Simpson took first and second with Wall leaping 12.33m and Simpson a personal-best 12.17m.

The Flames' next meet is on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill.
