Ann Arbor, Mich. - Nicole Derouin's run at the 2000 ITA Midwest Regional Championships came to an end Monday evening as she was defeated 6-4, 6-4 by Illinois State's Liina Suurvank in the main draw consolation semifinals.

"She may have lost in straight sets, but it was the best she has played since last year at Notre Dame," UIC Head Coach Mary Dailey reflected.

Derouin finished the event with a 1-2 record and ends the fall season with a 10-7 singles slate.

This event is the final one for the Flames during the fall season. The squad will begin team play on January 20, 2001 as they open the spring season on the road at Marquette.
