    CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team plays host to the UIC Invitational at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Court in Chicago, Ill. The two-day event features UIC, Milwaukee and Chicago.

    Play begins on Friday at 2 p.m. (CT) and resumes on Saturday at 9 a.m. (CT). The Flames enter the UIC Invitational after compiling a 10-12 record in singles play and 6-6 record in doubles competition at Wildcat Invitational (Sept. 29-Oct. 2) in Winnetka, Ill.

    Through the four-day competition sophomore Teona Tsertsvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia/Tbilisi High School No. 183) had an overall record in singles play of 2-1 and a 1-2 record in doubles competition with her teammate Polina Guimaraes (Granger, Ind./Granger Christian). Gumiaraes compiled a 1-2 record in Flight B singles.

    Sophomore Jana Knoppe (Ihringen, Germany/Martin Schongauer Gymnasium) achieved a 2-1 record and suffered a 1-2 record in her double with Kathryn Sharples (Stewkley, England/St. Pauls).
