UIC Women's Tennis Finishes 10th in Midwest Region|

CHICAGO - For the second-straight year, the UIC women's tennis team, which captured its 17th-consecutive Horizon League Championship in 2013, finished the campaign with a top-10 ranking in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Midwest Region. The Flames finished 10th in the poll after a ninth-place finish in 2012.
Head coach Shannon Tully, who was named the ITA's Midwest Region Coach of the Year, guided the Flames to their 17th-consecutive conference championship after producing a record of 14-5 during the dual season and going 6-1 against Horizon League opponents. After capturing the Horizon League title, UIC went on to make its 15th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Additionally, the doubles tandem of junior Mariana Palacios and senior Haley Craig finished in a 10th-place tie among the doubles teams in the Midwest Region. Palacios and Craig combined to produce an overall record of 12-8, including a 12-7 mark in dual match play. The duo played the entire season at the No. 1 doubles position, going 8-1 against Horizon League opponents.
