Chicago, Ill.- The UIC women's tennis team will open its eighth straight postseason on Friday close to home as the Flames travel up Lake Shore Drive to Evanston, Ill., to face ninth-ranked and No. 11 seed Northwestern at 10:00 a.m. Central.

UIC (13-10, 10-0 Horizon League) will tangle with the Wildcats (21-4, 13-0 Big Ten) for the right to meet the winner of the Harvard/Purdue match on Saturday.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. In case of inclement weather, the match will be moved indoors to the Combe Tennis Center.

Friday's first-round match marks the fourth time in six years that UIC and Northwestern will meet in the NCAA Tournament.

Tickets for Friday's match are $5 for adults and $3 for children and college students with a valid I.D.
