Chicago, Ill.- The 11-time Horizon League champion UIC women's tennis team learned on Tuesday afternoon that it will face seventh-ranked Notre Dame in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday, May 12th.

The match between the Flames (14-7) and Fighting Irish (25-3) begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern and will be played at the Courtney Tennis Center in Notre Dame, Ind. The winner will face the winner of the Colorado-Michigan match on Sunday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern.

UIC is making its ninth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Flames have gone 93-0 in Horizon League matches since 1997.

Notre Dame, the BIG EAST runner-up, earned the No. 6 seed in this year's NCAA tourney.

The Flames and Irish last met in the 2000 NCAA Tournament first round, with host Notre Dame downing the Flames by a 5-0 count.
