Indianapolis, Ind. - After the University of Illinois at Chicago women's tennis team strolled through the Horizon League ledger 7-0 without losing a match, it wasn't a surprise that the Flames ruled the league postseason honors.

UIC landed three players on the All-Horizon League First Team and another on the Second Team, as junior Nicole Derouin was named league Player of the Year after finishing the regular season 6-0 in league play and 20-9 overall.

Senior Britta Dohmann garnered Newcomer of the Year accolades after a fantastic debut season with the Flames, where she went 7-0 in league action and 18-8 overall.

Derouin and Dohmann headlined the First Team, as Ayca Gumuscu joined those two on the squad. Senior Karen Liwanpo was named to the Second Team following a season of success at singles and doubles.

These four student-athletes helped the Flames to a perfect league record winning the seven matches by a combined 49-0.

The women's tennis team does it all, however, as it was named the UIC Academic Team of the Year at the annual UIC academic awards banquet on Monday evening.
