Chicago, Ill. - UIC senior Jacki Farr earned Midwestern Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors it was announced earlier this afternoon.

Farr won both her singles and doubles matches on `Senior Day', Friday, April 13, as the Flames rolled past Detroit, 7-0.

Her 8-0 victory, teaming with Karen Liwanpo in the No. 3 doubles match, Farr surpassed former Flame Sarah Jackson for the top spot on the career doubles win list with 81 all-time victories.

The senior then capped the day by battling back to take out Titan senior Maria Pandele in the No. 1 singles contest, the most exciting match of the day. Farr lost the first set 6-7(4), but then rallied to take the second set 6-2 to set up a deciding tiebreaker third set. Even though UIC had long since claimed victory in the match, Farr and Pandele battled back-and-forth through long rallies until Farr finally prevailed 13-11.

Farr and the rest of the Flames will be back in action on Saturday, April 21 as they take on UW-Milwaukee at Flames Courts at 9:00 a.m., before battling UW-Green Bay at 1:00 p.m.
