Chicago, Ill.- Senior Molly Smith (Leawood, Kan./Notre Dame de Sion) was named the Horizon League Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending March 6, the league office announced.

Smith went undefeated in both singles and doubles action over the weekend in UIC's road matches against Iowa State and Northern Iowa.

At Iowa State, Smith downed Elizabeth Chermel by a 7-5, 6-1 count in No. 4 singles play and teamed with Grace Gill-Morlis for a No. 3 doubles win.

Smith then earned another doubles win with Gill-Morlis before picking up a convincing 6-0, 6-2 singles win over Taynara Moraes to lead UIC to a 5-2 win over UNI on Saturday.

UIC is back in action this Friday at Wright State.
