Madison, Wis. - Junior Nicole Derouin fell just short of her goal of reaching the main draw at the Omni Hotels ITA Midwest Regional Tennis Championship.

Derouin dropped a straight set decision on Friday afternoon to Kylene Wong of Northern Iowa, 6-1, 6-2. The loss snapped Derouin's six-match singles winning streak.

Teaming with sophomore Ayca Gumuscu, Derouin also tasted defeat on the doubles court as the duo fell 8-4 to Field and Radel of Indiana in the opening match of the main draw.

Gumuscu did give the Flames a victory on Friday, though, winning her final consolation match, 6-1, 6-4 over Kate Cilek of Western Illinois.
