Women's Tennis Looking Good With One Day Left At The Drake Lloyd Stokstad Invitational|

Des Moines, Iowa - The University of Illinois at Chicago women's tennis team made its annual trip west to Iowa for the Lloyd Stokstad Invitational hosted by Drake University, and with one day to play, the Flames have been a factor.
In Flight A, Ayca Gumuscu advanced to the semifinals with a win over Kristina Olshanskaya, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. However, in the semifinal match, Gumuscu was defeated by Sanja Hansson of Colorado State, 6-3, 6-1.
Also in Flight A play, Nicole Derouin lost her first match, but advanced to the final of the backdraw final with a pair of Saturday victories.
Newcomer Molly Smith has made her presence felt in Flight D, as she defeated Beth Chermel of Iowa State (6-3, 6-4) and Pamela Castillejos of Nebraska (6-3, 6-3) to advance to the final.
Zvjezdana Malesevic won her first-round match in Flight B, beating Tara Goedjen of Iowa State, 6-1, 6-4, before bowing out in the quarterfinal round.
In Flight B doubles, UIC's pair of Zorica Malesevic and Smith won their first round match with Paganetti and Jones of Colorado State, 8-4, to qualify for the semifinals in that draw.
Competition wraps-up on Sunday in Des Moines, Iowa.
